Commanding Officer's Duties

Being the Commanding Officer of a STARFLEET Chapter is very much like being a "real" Starship Captain.  The Commanding Officer is the one who is responsible for all aspects of the Chapter's operation and, ultimately, for its success or failure.

The Commanding Officer, also known as "CO" is also responsible for all assets or debts of the Chapter and must be the one to sign off on and be responsible for any written agreements entered into by the Chapter.

Commanding Officers are elected by the memberships in elections held in the fall of every odd-numbered year with the winner taking office in January of the following year at the Ship's Anniversary Party.  At that time the person is promoted to the rank of "Captain" if they do not already hold that rank or higher.

Captain Tahnya Abbott is the fourth person to hold the position of Commanding Officer of the Joan Of Arc.
